For 10 euros you can book the small guided tour which lasts about an hour. You go 1 - 2 kilometers into the cave which is a great adventure. At 10 degrees celsius and an average of 98% humidity, you can see the stalactites and stalagmites and countless bats. The staff is quite friendly and always ready to answer questions. Clear recommendation for this cave adventure.
It is an interesting cave, definitely worth the visit. Although it is only a cave with some stalactite, and not a real stalactite cave. I have been more beautiful stalactite before. What really interesting is the length of the cave. It is very very long. Our guide was very kind, and although the tour was only in German language, he summarized it for us at the end. Be prepared: it is 10 celsius degrees inside.
You can only visit the cave with guidance so check the time slots for the tours before going there.
Very nice huge cave. The staff is friendly and willing to answer questions, also in english :). Worth visiting. 1 hour tour with a guide.
This is the biggest cave in Austria (36 km). The galleries are quite tall and spectacular.
The presence of water inside creates beautiful formations.
The cave is flooded during heavy rains and it is closed for public.
The price is 7.5 EUR for adults but it's totally worthed.
It is one of the caves located in Austria. You need to walk a while in midst of rocks and terrains. This tourist spot is well maintained with sufficient parking space. It also has a museum which showcases fossils and ancient tools and stuffs used my mankind.
Guided tour every hour. Tour was very nice, guide explained in both German and English. Entrance fee is 10€. It is 10 degree inside, bring some winter-tupe clothes (or they provide at the entrance).
I had a great experience at the Lurgrotte.
There are 2 museums to see aswell, but all the information is in German. The 1h tour was also in German, but the guide told me that if I have any questions that he'd be happy to explain in English. The staff was really friendly and helpful !
(If you don't understand German, your experience might not be as nice though.)
Nice day trip idea :)
Wild hole in the mountain. The tour took about 1,5hrs. Temperature and climate inside was nice and cool.
The mountain-hole Committee rates the experience 10/10
